Garrett Morrow is a grid and market operations leader whose career bridges the frontier of large loads and stranded generation. He currently serves as Senior Manager of Market Operations at D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI), where he helps oversee one of the largest renewable energy portfolios in North America. His focus spans power market strategy, risk management, and revenue optimization across regulated and deregulated power markets.

Before joining DESRI, Garrett served as Head of Power at Northern Data Group, an operator of AI and Bitcoin mining facilities. There, he led site-level energy optimization strategies, developed partnerships with utilities, and built power price forecasts for business development.

Prior to that, Garrett spent over six years at EDP Renewables, where he led Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) portfolio strategy and execution, actively scheduled renewable assets in ERCOT, and initiated EDP’s first behind-the-meter Bitcoin mining pilot project. Garrett is passionate about expanding energy freedom, improving grid efficiency, and fostering informed policy discourse around Bitcoin’s role in creating energy abundance.
