BPI's Inaugural Cohort of Congressional Fellows

The Bitcoin Policy Institute is pleased to announce its first cohort of Congressional Fellows, which officially launched in January 2026. The first class of fellows represents a bipartisan group of policy and technology professionals placed in congressional offices to support legislative work at the intersection of technology, economics, and public policy.

The fellowship program is designed to bridge the knowledge gap on Capitol Hill. As digital asset legislation advances, congressional offices increasingly need staff with subject-matter expertise in areas such as monetary policy, financial regulation, and open-source technology. BPI Congressional Fellows serve as embedded resources, helping offices navigate complex policy questions and develop informed legislative decisions.

The inaugural cohort includes fellows placed across both chambers and both sides of the aisle:

  • Sal Pineda, Office of Representative Ritchie Torres
  • Peyton Allworth, Office of Senator Cynthia Lummis
  • Joseph Sanders, Office of Senator Jim Justice
  • Kevin Tucker, Office of Representative Nick Begich

BPI plans to expand the program in future sessions, building a pipeline of policy talent equipped to engage thoughtfully with the opportunities and challenges presented by Bitcoin and digital asset innovation.
